I just love folks who say it must be A or B and keep their head stuck in
the sand or somewhere else and ignore any of the other myriad
possibilities:
a) The so called experts are wrong and players we think are bozos turn
into stars
b) We needed to drop Cameron's salary to sign Delgado and Nady could
have been a chip some other team might have signaled that they wanted
(or he'd certainly be the equal of Diaz if some team had wanted him)
c) We may have dumped Seo because he's just a junk ball pitcher and
Minaya might have gotten more value for him than is apparent today and
he will do nothing as a starter
d) we may have dumped Benson to save $5 mil on his salary and the other
guys were flyers Omar took on the off chance one of them helps the bull
pen and these savings will make the Wilpon's happy that this year's
salaries are less than last years with a better team or
e) are used to go after a big league starter before the July 31st trade
deadline.
I could go on but you and Madden either can figure it out from this or
not.
