Mets offseason blueprint

I've given it alot of thought and here's what I would attempt to do to
make over the Mets if I was Omar Minaya. My plan doesn't add alot of
salary to the team (No Manny or Soriano) and keeps them relatively young
at the same time.

1. Sign either Billy Wagner or BJ Ryan. Billy Wagner is more of a sure
thing, but will cost more, and is 4 years older. I don't think we can
go wrong with either of these options.

2. Offer Mike Cameron and Steve Trachsel to the D-backs for 1B-RF Chad
Tracey and a prospect, possibly a good catcher if they have one (Chris
Synder)??.

Several reasons for the trade. Chad Tracy He's young - 25. He bats
lefthanded. He plays two positions the Mets have a possible need at 1B
& RF. He produces, .911 OPS in just his 2nd ML season. He offers
insurance for both Jacobs at 1B and Diaz in RF.

3. Offer arbitration to Piazza.

That's my _big_ moves for the offseason. Of course the team will still
need to make more minor moves for bullpen help, and bench players, but
that would pretty much be the extent of the big moves unless a team
bowled over Minaya with a trade offer.

And here's my Mets team for 2006.

SS Jose Reyes (22)
CF Carlos Beltran (28)
3B David Wright (23)
LF Cliff Floyd (33) Last year of contract
1B Chad Tracy (25) Mike Jacobs (25)
RF Chad Tracy (25) Victor Diaz (24)
2B Kaz Matsui (30) Anderson Hernandez (23) or Jeff Keppinger (25)
C Chris Synder (24) Mike Jacobs (25) Ramon Castro (29)

SP Pedro Martinez (34)
SP Tom Glavine (39) Last year of contract
SP Kris Benson (31)
SP Jae Seo (28)
SP Victor Zambrano (30)

SP/RP Aaron Heilman (27)

CP Billy Wagner (34) BJ Ryan (29)

By offering arbitration to Piazza we should get a draft pick back for
the one we would lose for signing either Wagner or Ryan. We also keep
all our prospects with my plan, and next season we let Floyd walk and
replace him with Milledge obtaining another draft pick, and do the same
with Glavine. We would also have Petit, Bannister, Scoobee, and Soley
all still in the minors for help with pitching if needed.

Thoughts?
