That's been a regular thing the last few years. It's not a new development. Whenever I ask who's pitching against the Mets today and hear it's a rookie my reaction is always, "Oh, Cy Young".

I heard Willie Randolph on the pre-game show last night say the problem was the Mets' players "Give the young pitchers too much credit."

That's about the dumbest thing I've heard a manager say since Art Howe left town. You "give credit" to somebody AFTER the fact, not before. I think Willie just isn't very good with words. He's also not very good getting his players pumped up to bat against young pitchers who don't have a track record.

A great organization builds from within. The Mets, being in NY also have the financial clout to ALSO mix in some star free agents.
