they shouldn't go to an arbitrator, because the red sox don't have to
trade him if they don't want to, i believe.

You DO understand they already let him go...with an agreement to be
determined later. You ARE getting odder and odder with your arguments about
ANYTHING. Can we agree on which end is up?
the top end? i wasn't arguing, i just thought that the agreement to
let him go was contingent on what they get in return, just like any
other trade. if i'm wrong, i'm wrong.

They agreed to let him go. They also agreed that if they could NOT agree on the value to be given to Boston in fair exchange, it would be determined by the Commish by a deadline which they are now extending. Period. The change in GM's of BOTH teams in as etched in stone as it could possibly be. Contracts were signed by both guys I'm sure. Theo and Ben aren't going anywhere else at this point.
