Adalberto " Big Flop" Ibarra is rehabbing from a shoulder injury in

Notes on other catchers: Catcher Mark Wagner was designated for
assignment at the end of March, outrighted to Pawtucket, and sent to
extended spring training, where he continues to work out ..... Catcher
Michael McKenry, acquired from Colorado for Double-A reliever Daniel
Turpen, took Wagner’s spot both in Pawtucket and on the 40-man
roster .....catcher Tim Federowicz and catcher Christian Vazquez each
putting up an OPS over .900 for the month ... Coming off two
consecutive dominant offensive seasons in 2009 and 2010, Lavarnway’s
timing has been off at the plate early on, but he continues to show
defensive improvements (Portland -- .216/.272/.365 with 3 home
runs ) ... Top offensive players in April - Dan Butler, C, Salem -- .
351/.439/.772 with 5 home runs. 24-year-old Butler is keeping himself
on Boston’s radar as a potential backstop of the future, following up
on his 2010 campaign in which he put up an .893 OPS ...
