Apparently, there will not be a formal extension announced, but there
is a lot of thought that the Sox and Gonzalez have reached an
agreement and just won't announce it until after the beginning of the
season. That allows them to save luxury tax since it will apply next
season when JD Drew, Mike Cameron, and David Ortiz's contracts fall
off the books.
Press conference is scheduled for Monday!!
Woo-hoo! I had given up and was just checking in one last time when I
saw the news!

They will wait until after Opening Day to announce the extension for
luxury tax reasons, but must be sure of getting the extension worked
out since the deal remains the players named earlier.
