As I recall you thought I was crazy when I bemoaned the situation in
California and said the people here were fed up and would rise up (non-
violently) against their oppressive taxing legislators.

Yesterday in this sure Democratic state we had an election. The
Quisling Republican governor Arnold Whathisface sponsored a series of
ballot propositions. They were supported by all major state Democratic
elected officials and just about no Republicans. The little weasel
mayor of Los Angeles Antonio " I took the bar exam 4 times and never
passed" Villaraigosa hitched his ambitious wagon to it and was the
Southern Calif. chairman of the campaign to pass Propositions 1A thru
1F.

1A  thru !E were are series of spending increases disguised as
"reforms". They were to help the schools, modernize the numbers
racket...er Lottery, and pretty much do everything except teach the
people how to walk on water. 1F was to toss the dog a bone and not
allow the state legislature to raise their salaries or those of other
elected officials in any year with a budget deficit.

The Pro prop people spent a fortune to promote their measures. They
were advertising in favor all over the TV dial for months. I did not
see any anti Prop advertising until the last 2 weeks before the
election. They had to have been outspent by well over a 10 to 1
margin. Given who was supporting this smoke and mirrors scam and how
so many others had been passed and the money spent I expected the
measures to pass. I voted NO on 1A thru 1E and YES on 1F by absentee
ballot about a month ago.

About 2 weeks ago news reports surfaced saying the Props could be in
trouble. It was surprising and encouraging. The Governorator also got
the word. He hung out predicting victory until the morning of the
election. By then his pollsters had told him he would lose big. So he
got his gutless self on a chartered jet, tossed his ballot out the
window before he left, and flew to DC for unscheduled photo ops with
the President re the car mileage program. What a worm slithering
across the national political stage because he was unwilling to man up
to his ignominious loss.

Despite his absence the election went on. When the dust had cleared
Props 1A thru 1E all lost. They didn't just lose they were demolished
with an over 60% NO Vote. Prop 1F passed easily.

I told you the revolt was starting and this was proof. California has
often been a trendsetter. Now we may have lit the fire against
relentless spending. The plan of the Democrats to take more and more
and still more of our money in taxes and then dole some of it back to
us in spending programs just hit a stone wall. The people deserve to
keep a lot more of their money and to make their own decisions as to
how they spend, save or invest it. Add  this to the "tea parties" that
were peacefully held over many parts of the country without open drug
use, condemnation of the police, or unending vitriol. The people are
saying "Enough". If there is one thing the left is good at, it is
judging which way the wind is blowing. Look for many of then to
discover that taxes are too high and the people deserve their economic
freedom. Former Supreme Court Justice John Marshall accurately said
"The power to tax is the power to destroy." We must have checks and
balances on those who are given that power,

What happened in California is the beginning of the end of leftest
control of California and many other states. In the words of the
Chambers Brothers "Time Has Come Today".

As an added bonus Los Angeles Councilman Jack Weiss, a close ally of
the mayor who was endorsed by him and chief of police Bratton and much
of the L.A. establishment, lost in the runoff for City Attorney to
outsider Carmen Trutanich by 11 points. That was another gut punch to
Villaraigosa's reputation. It was expected that he and Gavin Newsom,
slimebag mayor of SF, would fight it out in the Democratic primary for
the nomination for governor.  In case you don't know after his re-
election as mayor of SF Newsom admitted to having an affair with the
wife of his campaign director during the campaign. Newsom: "Keep up
the good work. I'm going out to meet the people."  That is amazing on
two levels-1. The mayor of San Francisco is heterosexual and 2. He would be so low as to do his campaign director's wife. I suppose the guy deserved it for working for Newsom.

Yes, change is coming, but not the change you expected.

Minor corrections made, major turn on the political spectrum.
