Maybe we need to keep track of ANTI-STARS. BLACK HOLES have the wrong
connotation, NEUTRON STARS also wrong. ANTI-STAR may be the best way
to describe Longoria's day. When an opposing pitcher blanks them then
a NEUTRON STAR may be appropriate. A BLACK HOLE would be when
somebody sucks all life out the game and i dont know if that happens.
Maybe if they commit 3 run-scoring errors while bouncing into 4 double
plays? Chalk this one up in "the 54 you lose anyway" category,
although it seems the Red Sox are filling that category up pretty
fast.

Funny how things go given enough time eh? Weren't some here ready to
annoint this guy as a new bullpen "ace" after a handful of appearances? I'm
not going to condemn the guy this quickly either...but the anti-Javy forces
need to face the reality that they all have their bad outings. Especially
after hitters see new pitchers a few times. They catch up to what's being
thrown them. Something folks should remember when considering why it is
that Papelbon is not so ridiculously dominating as when he first arrived on
the big league scene. He's still pretty damn good. Even though hitters are
occasionally getting good wood on his pitches. That's why he working on
some new stuff instead of simply going with the gas.
