If you go by what Cashman has said over and over, and what Hal has
stated, 2009's payroll will be less than 2008.
Can they spend more?? Sure Will they? I don't think so.

Uh-huh...we'll see...sure doesn't seem likely from where they are now. You may play with the numbers any way you wish. They are what they are. Still far beyond even teams like the Red Sox. I'll believe they spend less when they show it.
