Except that Crisp is not a leadoff hitter, have you checked his OBP
lately? He does have speed, though the "pop" in his bat is debatable.

Well I don't even know who lead off for KC las year, but Coco's OBP was not
that bad last year at .344...not great, but...

On the other hand, this trade does give the Sox options on what to do
with Masterson. I don't think it's a given that he becomes a starter.

Nothing is set in stone of course.  It depends on who the Sox acquire this
winter.  But Theo did mention the possiblity right after he pulled the
trigger on the deal.  Considering it's much easier to switch to relieving
than the reverse...barring another starter being added...I'm guessing he
prepares to start this spring...just my hunch.

The Royals OBP for all leadoff batters was pretty goof last year at .
358......8th in the majors. Coco has never been close to that.

Coco is not a good leadoff man. If he is hitting 8th or 9th you
probably have a good lineup. Any higher and your offense probably has
some weaknesses.
