More Tek Talk

An observation and a thought:
On Monday night's NESN Hot stove show, Heidi Watney was interviewing
David Ortiz. Asked what the Sox needed to do for next season, Papi
commented on the need for a power bat, bullpen help, and then with a
little twinkle in his eyes, said "and sign Jason".
At first I thought maybe the funny look was because he knows he
shouldn't be campaigning for a teammate and then I realized
He called him just "JASON" when talking to HEIDI. Hmmm... Maybe all
those rumors are true. If so, and part of the reason for Tek's
performance last year was his personal life difficulties, maybe Heidi
is the key to our catching quandry? 8-)
Also
Is is permissable in a Major League contract to include post-playing
incentives? In Tek's case, would he be willing to take the 1 or 2
year deal at $X, if he was guaranteed a minor league coaching/managing
deal after his playing career? It has always been talked about that
he would make a good coach/manager, and if this is where he would like
his life to go, ???,
