I don't recall even reading the word 'abortion' in that article.

Found it. I'm all for lifting the gag rule. Give women all the
information available to them. Reagan and Bush decided that women in
countries where abortion is legal shouldn't be told about that option.
Who the hell are they to make that decision? You don't want your tax
dollars going to planned parenthood? Write a letter to your congressman..

Eh....Please tell me why my tax dollars should go towards educating
people about and, in some cases, paying for, abortions for women who
aren't American citizens.  Why is that any of our business?  (of
course, why should my tax dollars go towards paying for the same
things when they *are* American citizens?)

Why should my tax dollars go towards paying for something that I
object to as strongly as I do the Iraqi war?    Why was it any of our
business to go into Iraq in the first place?     Why should my tax dollars
go to bailout banks that are just sitting on the money?     There are a lot
of tax dollars that are pissed away..... I don't consider informing women of
all their legal options a waste of money.

If you'd like, we can debate whether our tax dollars should go towards
paying for women of other countries to get abortions some other time.
All I want to convey here is that this - no matter what side you come
down on - is a partisan issue. Agreed?

But that misses the point anyway.  And that point was simply this:
whether you like or dislike his executive orders, *this* kind of thing
is, without question, a partisan issue.   John

Oh my god.... that partisan hack.... he picked another Democrat to be
his chief of staff and he's actually planning on sticking to the Democratic
platform that he ran on.   What the hell is he thinking?    What the hell
were 53% of the country thinking when they voted for him??      I'm
beginning to think you just enjoy typing the word 'partisan'.    <G>

Heh. No, that's my point entirely. I said that I think his choice
for Chief of Staff is perfect. Here's what I said in a previous post
in this thread: "This appointment is *perfect* for Obama, as he seeks
to implement his liberal agenda (as he should)."

J Buck asked if anyone wanted to defend his choice for CoS, and I am
one of those defending it. I think he made the right choice. Obama
is a liberal and he picked a guy who will vigorously and relentlessly
work to advance Obama's liberal agenda. I would not expect him to
pick anybody but a person like that.

So.........do you disagree with what I just said there? Do you think
he should have picked someone who *didn't* advance his liberal agenda?

John
