Wayback, Timlin has done the following:
1. He adores the President. Yes, that President. It doesn't bother Mike
that if our President's I.Q. were one point higher he would have the
mentality of a handball.

If that were true, he would still beat you.

With Kerry belatedly (likely because of this) released his army
records lo and behold it was discovered that George W. Bush scored
higher than Kerry on the military IQ test. Just because someone is not
a consistently great speaker he does not deserve to be branded as
stupid.

That's a little ludicrous, Gnork. I have a 'high' IQ, and I'm mystified
by cell phones, microwaves and power tools, yet I can disassemble cars
(and put them back together without too many pieces left over), build
and fix computers and cook like a wannabe Escoffier.

Doing well on IQ tests (some say) just means you know stuff and are good
at taking tests.

An IQ score is a measure of intelligence, primarily reasoning
ability. The higher the score, the greater the reasoning ability. It
also measures vocabulary and pattern recognition. It is a very good
indicator of problem solving ability.

I just like my attributes defined properly!

2. Timlin supported the war in Iraq.  He is on record as saying it was a
good thing.  Like millions of Americans, he believed all of the
President's rubbish about w.m.d's and a link to 9/11.  Unlike millions
of Americans, he still supports the war.  Not the troops, the illegal,
immoral war.

Stick it up your ass Leon. You have no right to force your opinions on
others and attempt to treat them as fact. If you bothered to look you
would see the surge is working and if McCain gets elected there is a
good chance we* can win.

I'm with you on this one. Personally, I disagree with Timlin's opinions
on the war, and if I were to speak with him and the topic came up, I
would tell him so. As long as he isn't shamelessly proselytizing, I have
no problem with him believing what he believes on. It's the *forcing* it
onto people that bothers me. As does using the sports field/team as a
lectern to espouse one's beliefs when they have nothing to do with the
game. (i.e., I agreed with Smith & Carlos' beliefs, but found their
using the '68 Olympics as a platform for said beliefs disgusting).

* We meaning America and not the quisling leftists among us.(My
opinion)

Why Quisling? Have they sold out to the enemy and are actively working
to destroy the present societal/governmental order? Poor choice of words.

3.  He belongs to the N.R.A.  Owning guns is one thing, but paying dues
to those wackos is something else.

I neither own a gun or belong to the NRA. But if I wish to that is my
business and my right. I am PRO NRA and Charlton Hestor was a great
man and a great American. It is you who is the "wacko".

Heston (I served him once), was (in my presence) a loudmouthed,
ignorant, bellicose, arrogant prick. He knew nothing about Canada (he
asked me if Canada had States 'No, sir, we have provinces,' and if
Canada had a Capitol. Right. On that 'viewing,' I lost whatever respect
I had for Heston, although I enjoyed some of his filmic performances. As
to his being a Great American, I have no idea.

I think Pete Seeger is a Great American. Far greater than Heston.

4.  He always wears army fatigues under his uniform.  He calls it
"supporting the troops".  Here's a novel idea.  Why don't we support the
troops by ending their nightmare and getting them the hell out of that
deathtrap of a country.

You are a gutless worm. (Fact, not opinion). Did you appoint yourself
chief of the fashion police?

I don't Leon's point about the underwear. Really, what's his problem?
Leon's, I mean. If it's a fashion critique, I'm doomed, since I wear
Italian briefs......

.....too much information....

My sister-in-law works at a V.A. hospital.  It is filling up with Iraqi
war veterans with serious psychological problems.  I know Bush and
Cheney don't like to mention it, but the damage we are doing to our
troops' psyches is real.

Your sister-in-law is a better person that you. There are problems
with some soldiers in every war. We should do our best to help them.
Now before all of you rightwingers go on one of your crazy Rush
Limbaugh, oxy-contin type rants at me, the truth is I don't care about
Mike Timlin's politics.  We could dig up the corpses of Jesse Helm,
Strom Thurmond and Charlton Heston.  If their dead evil spirits could
play baseball, I say suit em' up.  I really don't care about one's
political leanings, all I want is a team that can bring us another
championship.
Mike Timlin has earned by "baseball respect".

I never listen to Rush. Don't like him. As I said Charlton Heston was
a great man whereas you are scum.

Rush is funny as hell. Dangerous, since he plays his *audience,* preying
on their gullibility and ignorance. He frequently spouts utter nonsense
that many teenagers know to be flat-out untruths, but he makes a lot of
money. That's good in some circles.

Just don't ask him for real advice.
