Wikipedia

Troll: An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is
someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or
off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online
discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of baiting
other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt
normal on-topic discussion.

Let's see. I go into a Red Sox group and post that I am
unconditionally supportive of the team. I confront people who are
demeaning to members of the Red Sox. And for that, I am called a
troll. I don't believe I have ever started an off topic post. I
have responded to off topic posts made by others, on occasion, but
never started one.

<piggybacked>

It's not always what you say as how you say it. You always attack those who disagree with you. You are incapable of having a civil discussion. As for my being a drunk...I drink...I never get drunk...not anymore. I am an imperfect human who makes his share of errors. Being a drunk isn't one. That's all I'll say about that. I feel no particular need to defend myself to you, insignificant as you are. I'll bet you are the single most despised individual in this group...and for good reason.

no cola, you come to the group looking to start fights.
your sig line proves it.

Let's see. My sig line is a quote from DonFromBarre who basically is
accusing all Red Sox players and management of being brain dead,
mentally retarded, stupid idiots simply for supporting one of their
players, and I am called the troll. Don't shoot the messenger.

Here is an example of what a sickening piece of garbage you are. Don has his flaws too...but accusing all players and management of being brain dead is decidedly not one. He seems to be very even handed in his praise and criticism...even if I and others don't agree with him on everything. In fact, I don't believe any of us agree on everything. It would be pretty boring it we did. You see...that is the purpose of this place. To bitch, complain, vent, even rant...but also to celebrate and compare players...talk trades...discuss strategy and to generally share the experience of being fans of our team and the sport itself. It's actually kind of sad that you can't *get* that...that you have no sense of camaraderie with *anyone*. You just kiss the asses of your heroes who likely wouldn't waste ten seconds on a pathetic suck up like you.

you assume being an uncritical fanboi is the height of fandom.
it isn't

Obviously not in *this* newsgroup. But IMO the height of fandom is
when your team is doing very poorly and you still root them on. In
this group, many look for anything negative to bash the Sox. Any time
the Sox lose, someone is attacked as a scapegoat for the loss. I
choose to accept the losses, since there is nothing I can do to
change it, and root for them to do better in future games.

the rest of us come here to talk baseball{and occasionally
politics} that meanstalking about what happened. not just making
rah rah happy talk.

So sue me for trying to be positive even in the face of adversity. In
this group, even when the Red Sox are in first place, the negative
nellies are out in full force. Just look at last year.

and you never actually praise the sox you just attack the other
posters.

Selective perception. Perception creates its own reality.

Yours certainly *is* selective. On that we can agree. You are absolutely delusional.

everyone here does root for the sox.
unlike you we actually see what is happening.
you are an annoying fool who comes just to flame. that's all you do,
its all you've ever done.
