The "Cheryl Wright" 2008 Pick The Divisions Contest

Congratulations to Cheryl for last year's victory and becoming the first three time champion! No one else has even won it twice. Good luck to all this year. Let's get a lot of entries!

Please review your entries carefully before submitting. I usually get 3-4 entries that are missing a team and/or have the same team listed twice. Invariably, these are usually submitted on opening day and I am trying to get a correction in order to get the entries posted and to beat the cutoff. Good luck!

1. RULES: submit to srobbins31 at yahoo dot com (DON'T POST to the ng) your predicted outcomes of the six division races, 1-6 (or 1-5, 1-4 as the case may be. At the end of the year, I'll tally the results and declare the winner based on overall accuracy. All entries must be received before the first pitch of the first game. This year I will use the first game in the US instead of the international games so all rosters will be set and everyone has plenty of time to think it over. That game is the Braves vs Nationals on March 30th at 8:05 PM. I will reply to every entry so you know I received it. If you don't get a reply within 24 hours, please resend your submission.

2. METHOD: Like golf or STD tag, the lowest score wins. For each place your prediction misses, you're given one point, ie, you pick the Twins for third and they win the AL Central, you get two points. If there is a tie, then you will be correct by picking the team for either position. For instance, if Toronto and New York tie for second, then you are okay by picking them second or third. If you pick one of them fourth, then you are only penalized one point (the difference to third).

3. JUDGING: Well, it's simple math. What I'll do is post the entries on my website for all to ponder after Opening Day. I will also submit my entry below. I do this verifying because I want to enter as well, and I don't want to be accused of 'sandbagging' by reviewing all your choices first. Please let this be the only entry shown on-line before opening day.

4. PRIZE: The pride in showing off your superior intellect (an apparent bonus in this ng) and the privilege of having the contest named after you next year; hence, the name of this year's contest!
