What impresses me about Ortiz over, say, other big SLUGGERS is the SPEED
of his Home Run hits. To compare, and keep in mind I am talking in most
instances for both - Manny's same Home Run ball will go way up in the
air and hang there for "EVER" ... a "semi-circle" shall we say. Not
picking on Manny, Youk's and others do the same.
Big Papi's HR's are "ROCKET GUIDED LASERS" - I'm no scientist <thank
Gawd> but I'd put a fake $20 bill Big Papi's HR's, in most instances,
are the fastest to make it to "THE LINE".
I sat on The Monster in late June 2004, they were playing Minnesota, day
game <think they lost 4-1> .. any way, Big Papi DRILLED one to Right
Field, again I'm no scientist, but I don't think 1 second elapsed from
the time he hit it to the time it landed in the Right Field seats.
It was a very memorable sight.
