The all time SS, Miller, appeared in 248 games at SS which is the most
of any Panamanian. His stats were also better than the few others. The
outfield is good Carew is by far the best at both 1st and 2nd. Moreno
stle 487 bases including 254 from 1978-80, but he was a very weak
hitter. Both he and Manny Sanguillen were teammates for several years
in Pittsburgh. Bruce Chen is the runaway leader in home runs allowed
with 154. In 146 more innings Rivera has allowed only 49. Speaking of
49 that is the total number of Panamanian born major leaguers.
Considering that they have had a lot of good players, one Hall of Fame
player (Carew) and one almost certain future Hall of Fame player
(Rivera).
Maybe some of you can select a different country and put together a
team. (Or not).
