I have to disagree. It was winnable. We just weren't willing
to pay the price to win it. (i.e. drop a nuke on Hanoi.)

We sent out best and brightest over to fight the war but woudln't

I'm still waiting for some sort of logical justification for using a
nuke on Viet Nam. They didn't provoke us in any way and they were of
no threat what so ever. What reason would you use to use a nuke on
them after we invaded them for no reason?
The same could be asked for entering the war itself.
