I agree about a catcher--that's my biggest worry for the team at this
point. But I'm also sorry to see Lowrie's name mentioned in the
potential Santana trade scenarios, since the Sox have been
inconsistent at SS for a while now.

They are overpaying for Lugo, but he will do for now. They won a Series with
him, and he is under contract for a few years. They can't trade him without

I agree that he will do for now, but I was looking down the road. I
realize that Logo is signed through 2010, with a $9-M vesting option
in 2011. That's a long time to keep Lowrie in the minors--maybe too
long. It all depends on how Lugo does.

There are still doubters here about Ellsbury...I wouldn't pencil Jed in quite yet.
