In Saudia Arabia a woman was gang raped by 7 men. That woman was
convicted of being in the presence of a man who was not her husband or
father or brother. She received a sentence of time in prision and 60
lashes. She appealed. As a result of the appeal, her sentence was
increased.

The Bush family has been friends with the ruling family of Saudia Arabia
for many years.

Bush's response: ?? Where was his "courage" as a leader of the free
world?
Where is his codemnation of the institutional and cruel violations of
basic himan rights in that country?

~Randy~

How about NOW? Where have they been regarding this barbaric practice
in many arab countries? Liberal womens' groups are deafeningly silent
when it comes to the barbaric anti-female practices that occur in that part
of the world. Are they afraid that Al Qaeda will bomb NOW HQ?

We have no right to tell them how to run their country.

We do when "how they run their country" involves killing anyone who is
not Muslim.

Bull***. Until a COUNTRY attacks the us we can't just bomb muslims at
large.

Terrorists, not Muslims.

I was using his words.
And you can't bomb terrorists out of existence either. It must be a
combination of surgical removal and destroying the life line that
feeds them. Take away religion and they die of a cause.

Okay, I thought "bombing" was used as an all-inclusive term for
fighting them. We need to get rid of terrorism by whatever means
possible.

Agreed. Education is the best way. Teach them that religion is a fairy
tale and their reason for fighting dies.- Hide quoted text -

........religion is the problem?

yes, it is, as always- Hide quoted text -

You mean all those people who go to Church and pray every Sunday are
the problem?

That is so silly.

Yes! The bible is dangerous. It was your god who told Moses to kill
the male non-believers and keep the cattle and women. Nice god you
have there.
(and yes...I can quote you chapter and verse)- Hide quoted text -

I don't think the Jew and Christians are killing the non believers at
this point....nor are they keeping the cattle or the women for that
matter.

If you can quote chapter and verse you could certainly point out a lot
more positive things than some out of context phrase that promotes
your agenda.

Are you saying that not in the bible?
How about something a little more current...the Spanish Inquisition
maybe?
Yes...all religions are fairy tales.

The violence you cite is in the old testament. The new testament,
which is the account of Jesus' teachings, replaces vengeance with
mercy and love. Hence, the NT being labeled the "Good News" of Jesus
Christ.

Christianity, like many religions, in and of itself is very nice. It's
fanatical people who eff it up.- Hide quoted text -

Lets keep this in some perspective. The era in which most of this was
written was certainly more savage than today. It is only natural that
their interpertations would reflect what they knew and how they lived.
