Someone in the Yankee newsgroup (while discussing why the Twins might
take Lester and Crisp over Cabrera and Hughes) asked me would I trade
Lester and Crisp for Hughes and Cabrera. I said no, but I think it's a
good question. What do y'all think?
Yes, I'd trade Lester and Crisp for Hughes and Cabrera. I'd
rather have Hughes than Lester right now (though I'm hopeful
that Lester can bounce back to how he was performing in the
minors pre-cancer) and I'd rather have the younger, cheaper
equally Cabrera than Crisp because I think Cabrera has a better
(thought not teribly good) chance of being a decent hitter
in the future.
Catch you later.

Plus Cabrera would be a cheaper 4th outfielder than Coco because
Ellsbury would be playing Center..- Hide quoted text -

I'm having a hard time believing any of the Red Sox decisions are
being made by who is cheaper anymore.
I thought when they seemed hesitant on Abreau a couple of years ago
they had maxed out....but the last few years they have blow away any
budget they could have had.
