ESPN MLB currently shows this under today's transactions for the WHITE
Sox:

Acquired outfielder Carlos Quentin from the Arizona Diamondbacks for
first baseman Chris Carter; designated pitcher Heath Phillips for
assignment.

Chris Carter is our guy. Could it be that the Red Sox just traded for
Quentin and the White Sox just dumped Heath Phillips?

Chicago does/did have a 3B named Chris C. Carter* and CBS says he is the
one
that was traded, it seems AZ wanted to replace the Chris Carter they gave
us:
Here is what CBS says about him:

Carter is one of the better slugging prospects in baseball, hitting .291
with 25 homers, 93 RBI, 84 runs, a .383 OBP and a .522 SLUG in 467 Class
A
at-bats last season. He has outstanding long-term potential, but he will
be
just 21 this spring and won't be a candidate to help the contending
D-Backs
in 2008. Consider him only in deeper prospect keeper leagues.

Here is what CBS says about our Chris C Carter:
The Red Sox announced Tuesday they bought the contracts of first
baseman-outfielder Chris Carter from Triple-A Pawtucket and shortstop
Argenis Diaz from Class A Greenville.
(Updated 11/21/2007).
Fantasy Analysis
Carter, acquired from the D-Backs via the Nationals for Wily Mo
Pena,
is a 25-year-old lefty 1B/OF who hit a combined .316 with 19 homers, 88
RBI,
80 runs, a .377 OBP and a .504 SLUG in Triple-A last season. He has pop
in
his bat and could be a bench option for the Red Sox, but he should only
be
considered viable as a reserve for the deepest of AL-only leagues if he
looks like he might make the team this spring.

* No, that was Vernon Christopher Carter per my info. Stats are what
you listed. And the Red Sox guy in Wiliam Chris Carter.

Perhaps the D'Backs felt they just had to have someone named Chris
Carter in their organization.

Yeah, I saw that in your other post, for some reason CBS calls them both
Chris C Carter.
