I suspect that you and others were taken by surprise by this kid who
seemed to come out of no where and put up more than respectable
numbers. It is easy to get mesmerized when one's expectations are
greatly exceeded as they were with Ellsbury.

No one knows what his future will be. All we know is that he has done
very well in a small sample of games in the majors after a less than
stellar minor league stint.

Santana has a five year history of Cy Young caliber pitching in the
major league. It is far more likely that Santana is going to help the
Sox repeat as World Series Champs minus Ellsbury than it is for
Ellsbury to do it minus Santana.

The issue of money is obviously an important one to the Sox
organization but I am sure that they have the wisdom to make the right
decision about what he is worth and how much they can afford. In Theo
