Piggybacked, with a tip of the cap to Pedro:

I doubt that Buchholz will win 30 games next season.

I keep re-reading that to try to make sense of it. You must have
snipped something improperly or something. I'm sure it seemed clever
when you hit *send*.

Didn't you, at any point, wonder if there was something about this that
you'd missed?

Uh...yeah...that was the point of MY post...WTF else would I be
re-reading his???

"I'm sure it seemed clever when you hit *send*" suggests to me that you
weren't genuinely seeking clarification.

I asure you, I was.

The point sure appeared to mean Buchholz could get 15 wins.

When did Pedro win 30?

He was once asked if he could duplicate last season's record, and he
replied "That would be 46 wins", or similar. Pretty clever stuff for a
non-native speaker to realise the question should be "repeat", not
"duplicate".

I don't see what is so clever about Pedro's quote really either. At
best it's an effort of obfuscating by the use of semantics.

It was funny.

Really? I guess I'm really dense then. What is the difference between *duplicating* a season's performance and *repeating* one? I happen to feel the two are interchangeable. I'm happy to have you explain to me how it is not.

I don't get it. What is the difference? You do know what to duplicate
means don't you? School me...explain this, to this poor uneducated
soul here.

My, grandma, what a big chip you have.

Keith...I think you have had one with me, for some time. Again...you must really consider me a fool...or you just keep misreading what I'm saying...or both. I was merely saying that the point was not clearly made...to me. I don't care if you believe me or not...but I really am confused by your animosity...I wasn't even talking to you and I hardly think Pearly needs this impassioned defense. I'm not even sure he doesn't have me killfiled since he *piggybacked* his response to me and snipped quite a bit as well. It seems to me he can handle himself...and I'm not looking for a fight with either of you. Sheesh!
