OK, now we know why he wrote it. Can somebody explain to me why
they play it at every game at Fenway? (Yeah, he said the Red Sox
think it brings them luck, but who came up with that notion, and
why?) One season they played that stupid clip of Kevin Millar from
what appeared to be his college days because they thought that
brought them luck. At least they had the good taste to stop doing
it after a while.

I believe it was a "random" selection by an intern working for the
Red Sox at the time. Apparently the Sox felt it brought them luck
and have stuck with it all these years. I think that's pretty close
to the story.

Yeah...it's just a fun, sing-a-long tune that allows the fans to
interact a bit. Just an easy tune that everyone knows the words to.
I remember Jack Black had it as the conclusion to one of his goofy
flicks. Caught the end on cable one night. He and his pal sang it
on stage with Neil, their idol, while the credits rolled if I'm not
mistaken.
You are thinking of "Saving Silverman", and they are singing "Holly
Holy."

One of the greatest live albums ever is Neil's "Hot August Night".

Teddy

Good album. Strange cover. He looks like he's on fire and putting it
out.

I saw Neil perform live about 12 years ago. We had 2nd row tickets. He
puts on a great show and he sweats like a rented mule on a hot summer
night, so to speak. Also for several years the dentist I went to was
his 1st cousin. (Dr. Richard Diamond in Tujunga, CA.). He had a bunch
of signed pictures of Neil in his office. I was surprised to learn
that Diamond was the family name, it sounds so much like a stage name.
