RC claims:

Okay *** heel, you drew me out. I know you're good at digging old
quotes out so please show me where I said "that JD DESERVED to be
maligned". I think what I said is that he WAS much maligned.
There's one hell of a difference. IF I said it your way an apology
to Drew is probably in order If I said it the way I remember will
you be man enough to apologize to me?

Piggy-backed.

Actually, I think JD DID deserve to be maligned. RC often mentions Lowell's 2005 season, but I think if I'd been a Marlins fan during his 'slump,' I'd have maligned his ability to produce and been sickened that he continued to suck.

Much the same way I approached JD's performance until late August.

Baseball is a game of production for the players, and if that means offense on a team that needs offense, players have to be able to stand in and 'earn their money.' If they can't, I hate their performance and wish they weren't there. Work it out, get better, then I'll applaud your performance and ability.

One poster sees that as being a 'bandwagon' jumper, but he doesn't get it. Wanting someone out when he isn't producing and liking him when he DOES produce isn't jumping on and off the bandwagon, it's wanting what's best for the team.

Is RC NOT the single most hated poster in this newsgroup?

Certainly the most pitied, I think.

Depends on how you define "hated." I could see certainly see
arguments for Curly C (and possibly others, depending on what
invokes one's own hatred). Personally, I'd much prefer he
become tied for most "ignored" (though I will also say that
I have always enjoyed his posts that are about baseball, as
opposed to being about other posters).

Curly's rants are amusing. His "Puke/Youk" posts are obviously rooted in his love for those of the Jewish persuasion, I guess. His holocaust-denial posts were fiendishly boring and dangerous at the same time they were piteous and hilarious to anyone broadminded enough to read more than one pamphlet about it. His baseball posts are curious, but hardly insightful. Like RC, he has a common theme that supercedes all relevant thought processes: "don't rest players!"

We all know RC's shtick, tired as it is.

Point taken. I shouldn't have used THAT word. My mother always scolded me for using it...urging me to use detested or despised or preferably intensely disliked instead. My bad. I know...or at least I think, he may be among the most *reviled* in this group. In part because of the incessant frequency and self righteousness of his posts in here. His are certainly the ones I see the most, although he has inhabited my KF for quite some time.

Reviled is a nice tasting word. <g>
