Actually, I think I read a while back that it would be a MLB record
for a rookie 2B man.

There simply can't have been particularly many truly spectacular
rookie second basemen over the years if .317 is the best BA for
a rookie 2Bman.

And after going 1 for 3, he is out of the game and has a .317 average.
