NL PLayoff Scenarios!!!

OK, with the AL all set, there are some really interesting scenarios in the
NL --
NL East -- With Philly and the Mets tied, if they end up tied after today,
they play a 1-game playoff in Philly tomorrow (with, I think, Petey on the
mound for the Mets). If either one loses on Sunday, they are OUT of the
playoffs since they will be unable to catch San Diego for the Wild Card. If
both WIN, the loser of the one-game playoff on Monday will slide into the NL
Wild Card race, described below.
Wild Card -- If the Padres win, they're in. But if they DON'T, the it gets
very interesting, because right now there is a possibility that the Mets,
Phillies, Padres, and Rockies could *ALL* end up at 89-73. So here's the
possibilities:
If two teams tie for the wild card, one must be the Padres (obviously, since
they've already won 89 games). There would be a one game playoff for the
Wild Card. When and where depends on who the other team is, because if the
Mets and Phillies both win, the Padres opponent won't be known until Monday
night.
If three teams are tied, then it must actually have been a four-way tie
since if only the Mets or Phils get to 89 wins, they win the NL East
division. So, there will be a two-day, three team tiebreaker over Tuesday
and Wednesday between San Diego, Rockies, and the loser of the Mets/Phils
playoff on Monday. Colorado, having the best record against the other two
teams, gets to choose whether to have a bye on Tuesday or play both games at
home.
Pretty interesting stuff going on in the senior circuit!
