The point wasn't that is was 2 minutes or 2 hours closer and wasn't
stated as such. He went somewhere 1500 miles from Katy Texas and it
had NOTHING, repeat nothing to do with where it was located in
relation to Tx.

Well, maybe so. I don't think location had much of anything to do with
it, either, for what it's worth.

But it's a little lame to rag on a guy for saying he wants to be
closer to home and then going somewhere that is, in fact, closer to
his home.

Not really. Had he picked Houston I'd say good luck.... I understand.
Same for Texas even though they're in the AL. Even a Florida team
would've been understandable. Picking Toronto because they're a
smidgen closer, and oh BTW they happen to also offer me the most money
too is the disengenous part. My problem is he is all about himself.
The running joke about carrying luggage was something we all laughed
about but in seriousness it's pretty clear he views every aspect of
life through that same set of glasses. He has no real love for the
Yankees (or Red Sox or Astros), they offered him more money and that's
it. If he LOVED the Yankees and Joe Torre so much then why open the
bidding with Boston and Houston? It was about the money as it has been
every step of the way with him, and again that's fine but at least be
honest and acknowledge that.
