These are my thoughts on what the Redsox, Theo, should do for moves
during the All Star break.

We cannot and most likely will not win the World Series with certain
players remaining, but we're stuck with most of them.

My Moves:

1) Put Schilling on the DL and let him regain strength. He's
starting his midseason break-up early this year. He's not a pitcher who
can continue to pitch into his 40s unless he commits to a strong regime
of strength training. And I think that's out because it'll take away
from his jaw exercise. Put him on the DL and bring up John Lester. Let
the fat old man rest his weary bones. Maybe we can get some decent
pitching from him for the 2nd half.

He's headed for the MRI, so may go there anyway. We completely lost
verocity after the one-hitter. Something bad has happened. Hopefully, just
dead-arm syndrom and not an operation.

2) Trade Coco. Hopefully someone needs an outfielder. His contract
is tradable. Get a relief pitcher in return. Bring up Ellsbury. We'd
be in the same situation at worst. He's just as good if not better
defensively and he probably would hit better than .240.

No. He's showingf signs of life and defense is so good, he'll be very
valuable if thak make the playoffs (and no, it's by no means assured).
Would you areally want Wiley-Mo out there?

3) Trade Tavarez for another relief guy. The Mets or Dodgers need a
starter and we could probably get a good middle reliever in return.
Tavarez has been great as a starter, but we do need relief. Either him
or Snyder should go. Let them start on another team.

No. Tavarez is that valuable componenet on a team in a pennat race: A guy
who can start or do long/middle relief and be effective in either. I say
keep him.

This should be enough to maintain our lead and get us through the post
season. Lester would be a great boost to the team mentally and
physically.

I Schilling goes down, get Lester up. He may come up anyway.

Other thoughts:

As for Lugo and Drew. Face it we're stuck with these deadbeats. Boras
gave it to us right up the ass with Drew. Lugo was another Theo bad
move. Theo is no magician. He's made as many bad moves as good. And
the bad ones are real bad.

Drew is hindsight. On paper, Drew looked very good, though too expensive.
There's no way to tell if a player will tank for a year, as he has. I don't
blame Theo for this one.

Lugo, yes, Stuck. Alternating with Cora is the best you can do.

Wily Moe was not a bad move. I don't see Arroyo in line for the Cy
Young Award. Pena is our next left fielder and can hit if he plays on a
consistent basis.

If he could figure out that the strike zone isn't five feet wide, maybe,
but he'd still have to play the field ((shiver)).

We've traded our catcher of the future to get Maribelli back for
Wakefield. Hopefully they let Wake walk at the end of the season. I
don't want to hear any crap about he eats innings, HE DOESN'T. He a
liability to the team. We traded Bard, a good future catcher to take
over for Varitek just to have a catcher who could catch the Knuckle
ball. Kotarras thinks he's going to make up to Boston on his defense.
He's crazy. V's not a defensive catcher, but he manages the P staff
well. He's done his share of hitting. If V was a good D guy he'd be
catching Wakefield.

You might be right about it being Wakefield's last year, but he still has
some very good stretches like he did in April and May despite (again)
getting no run support. He's in a nbit of a slump, but I haven't given up
on him. Though I have given up on Mirrabelli hitting a basebal.

I would love to see the Sox sign Lowell. He's a class act and a good guy
to have in the club house.

Agreed. The Beckett/Lowell deals looks pretty good. The inverse of Drew,
Theo lucks out whwn Lowell outperforms expectations. It all balances out.

No to Schilling. Let his fat ass big mouth go elsewhere.

They won't sign him. Most likely, pinstripes.

Jacoby's a stud and will be our next big star. I can't wait to see him
every day in a Sox uniform.

Remember these are my opinions. Please leave yours, but not personal
bashing of my opinion.

I'm sure Mr Carlisle will do enough for all of us. HOW DARE you criticize a
player!

I respect your right to speak your mind as you should mine.

GO SOX
