If you must use IE, go to "Set Program Access and Defaults" and select
"Add/Remove Windows component." Uncheck IE Explorer, and then after
it gets done uninstalling it, reverse the process.
Once I uninstall something who's to say i can reinstall it? I just want the
computer to work. I don't want to learn all about it.
Windows installs and uninstalls components of the OS -- like Outlook
Express or IE Explorer -- simply by checking or unchecking a box. You
will not need your disk. (If you don't believe me, try it with a non-
essential component such as MSN Explorer.) Windows doesn't uninstall
the code, it enables/disables access to the program. If you are
having a problem accessing the program, a logical step would be to
have Windows recreate the shortcuts to the program. It might work,
or it might not, but it costs nothing to try it.
