What better place to inquire than here?
How many of you remember Frank Malzone? I've read a little about him and
I
remember he retired right around the time I began watching the Red Sox.
It
seems like he was a pretty good third baseman from what I remember them
saying. I'm just wondering how come his name doesn't get mentioned very
much, if he was that good.
Is it because the Sox were so bad during that time?
malzone is doing fine , he lives in needham and he was just a guest at the
last bosox club luncheon.
he hit a game winning homerun in the first sox game i ever attended,
he retired over 40 years ago, that will keep the mentions down. i'll
wager
many here never sae him play
I remember his being mention when I first started following the Sox, I even
had his baseball card at one point. Joe Foy was at third when I first saw
them.
He hit a pair of homers the first time I saw them play, Yaz hit 2 also!
