I see there's already a thread concerning this but it's already grown
pretty long and I want my take, which may be different than what's
there, unpolluted by anything. First what ARod did sounds pretty bush
league to me. It may be among the oldest tricks in the book but it
doesn't sound "big league" to me. There sure is a pattern forming with
him with things like this. Also, the smirk on his face right after the
play was typical and a big part of what's so unlikable about him. Most
interesting was the interview after where he basically said he did it
because they are desperate. My biggest thought on this however is that
the real bush leaguers in this are the two dummies that fell for it. By
it's "oldest trick" nature there seems to me to be little excuse for
falling for it.

I disagree. Clark was backpedaling.......... McDonald was coming
in........ A-rod ran between the two of them and yelled something. Clark
probably thought it was McDonald calling for the ball and stopped rather
than crash into McDonald.

Agreed, Slappy ran right between the SS and 3B, and the 3-Baseman would
have to be listening for a call from the shortstop. The atmosphere in
Toronto was loud, difficult to hear, and there is Slappy, practically
yelling (his name) in his ear. How unfortunate that so many people
blame the victim, while apologizing for the perpetrator. A-Rod's play is
classless. Do you teach your kid to play like A-Rod, or like Lowell?

Can someone tell me who the announcers are on this video? Who is
the guy that says he played 17 years and never saw anything like that?

Sounds like Toronto's announcers. (Don't know their names.)
