Good the blockhead is actually doing something useful, eh?!
I sent a complaint into MLB.com regarding this deal, explaining that I
had EI now and would NEVER sign up for DirectTV. Their response was to
send me a link to the DirectTV site to sign up! Obviously, they don't
give a shit about it.

It's getting close to decision time--I wish the Commish would annouce
his decision soon, the weasel.
Has anyone signed with XM yet? Is it expensive? I'm thinking of doing
that. A relative has DirecTV, and they find it expensive and channels
are not well organized. And as someone else said, if they get a
monopoly on Extra-Innings, the price will probably rise.

Extra-Innings for All !!
I'm concocting a scheme where if it does go satellite, i might be able
to work it..
here's the deal.. i live less than 20 miles from the MA state line. I'm
in Yankee/Met territory, but a mere 20 miles from Red Sox Nation.. I'm
thinking i go over the line and rent me a PO box at the local post
office. better yet would be a UPS store or something of that ilk, but
alas, Western MA is not the place to find such things..
anyways after securing this address, i get a dish and sign up using my
'new' po box as my address. i pick it up at circuit city where i can do
a self installation.. of course i install it at my house. Then i get
the basic package with HD which will run about $40/month and i'll get
full time nesn. i pay my bill online so i only have to drive over to my
post office box once every couple of months or so. i won't need the
package at all as i can get Mets/Yanks on my local cable and nesn on the
I hear you need to hook a phone line up to it, but i don't have a phone
line at all at my house anymore. i also hear you only need if for PPV
and sports packages. i won't need either (remember Nesn is a basic
channel over the border, i don't need EI)
Sounds so goofy it might work.
