Approx.

million last year.

With the sheer number of games being played each season, it's

understandable.

With only a few races each year, NASCAR in New England draws very
well.

New England has always been NASCAR's 2nd strongest market.
i saw them running when the cup was called grand national at oxford
plains
speedway back in the late 60s.

Ahead of which one - Talladaga or Daytona ? LOL

daytona is a good time, but restrictor plates have rutned it somewhat.
when
i was there in 86 fate stuck us next to folks from chicago and we had to
listen to them go on about the superbowl just a few weeks earlier. and we
had to take it, what could we say in defense.

I got married in '59 and we drove an old Nash to Florida with a stop at
Daytona where I drove the Nash around the beach / brick track - and we took
in a race at the New Track. It was amazingly banked for those days. Not
sure if Fireball Roberts had just gotten killed but it was certainly shortly
before or just after.
