You're right--this year Boston hasn't had many potential cases. IIRC,
the only ones were Wily Mo, Donnelly, and Snyder, and all three
settled before their hearings. That's pretty common now; you don't
see nearly as many cases get to the arbitrator's desk these days.
Demographically, as you say, most of Boston's players either have too
much or too little service time to be arbitration-eligible (or, like
Crisp and Beckett, were signed to extensions last year).
Youkilis will be eligible next year, and Papelbon the year after.
