--Well that's not quite what Schilling is looking for. He isn't looking for
less money. As I understood it, he wants a one year extension at the same
pay (13M). He also wants this done before spring training or he'll get it
elsewhere. IMO he is worth it. P.S., he doesn't even bother with an
agent.
I wouldn't test him.
If Schilling is willing to sign for just 2008 at only $13 million, I'd
grap it in a minute. That is a real bargain price, for now at least.
Sure, he could have a bad year and the price might look high. But
looking for now, it is a real bargain, a huge bargain, really, unless
there are health issues we don't know about. Really, anything below
$16 million is a bargain in this market.
Now Schill seems to be losing some of his FB, and he undoubtedly will
lose more of it as time passes. But he also seems to be able to adjust
to the loss and still perform well.
That's exactly how I see it as well. In today's market, this should be done
tomorrow.
I agree with you guys too. Hope it happens soon, and that we get at
least another two good years out of Curt. And hey, if it gets Curt to
230-240 wins and boosts his Cooperstown case, all the better.
