Isn't it amazing how the same people that are blasting the Sox for not

Nobody should blame Theo for not making deadline deals. However, Theo
is to blame for trading away great young talent for busts like Beckett,
Coco, and Mirabelli. There's no getting around those terrible moves.

I agree. It will be less painful if Beckett comes back strong the next
three years though.

With trades, we can evaluate the trade when made, to see if it was
reasonable, etc., and we can evaluate the end results. For the second,
there is always an issue ofhow long to wait. But as of now, the trade
for Beckett and Mirabelli are unquestionable terrible deals. the deal
for Coco is less clear, as Marte has not been all that good and Coco
was injured.

I agree, of course, that the Beckett trade could turn out well, since
front line pitching is soooo difficult to get. But that would mean a
fall by Anibal and a big rise byr Beckett.

In one respect, we know the trade for Beckett was a flop --- the point
was for a big benefit this season, when it was assumed that Anibal and
Hanley would be stuffed in the minors. Now, they might have been with
the Sox, but with all the RS pitching problems, I'd guess that Anibal
at least could have had a shot.
