Mota warming up in the pen. Why not bring Mota in? Maybe, Wedge knows
the season is over so he is just trying everybody out to see how they
respond. Isn't that the kind of thing you do in September? A more
experienced manager would have won all three of these Fenway games.
It's not his fault his GM traded the team's closer. Also, with the
record they have, they are trying to develop a closer by throwing the
kid into the fire. It's not like Cleveland is in the middle of the
division or wild card race.
Mota's 6.21 ERA might have a little to do with it as well. His last outing, he threw one inning and gave up 2 earned runs...
