It's a cheap political tactic. Lawmakers do this sort of thing to boost
their own stock. How? Because you child's safety is involved.
Picture this: Local Politician Mr Green wants to lower the school zone
speed limits in town from 25 mphto 15mph. How do you go against that?
If you do your opponents use it as method of attacking you. What kind
of person would want drivers to go faster in a shool zone? In reality
the law passes, everyone pats themselves on the back and then they look
for the next issue such as drinking age, helmet laws, etc...
In the end, it is always about the helmet laws.
