Yes, that is his pattern, but I do not agree. It is the 9th inning, a
runner on 1st with one out, and your best hitter coming to the plate.
And petagine on the bench as a suitable replacement.
But yes, Olerud is a stronger case b/c he is truly slow. No chance he
would have gotten to 3rd on Manny's hit to RF. Manny is not slow
enough to be worth a PR in that situation (runner on first). With the
runner on 3rd and one out, I'd PR to reduce the risk of an injury to
Ortiz or Manny at the plate, as well as to increase the chances of
scoring.
