Game 30: Don's Aug. 30th. grade/thoughts !!!

It looks more likely that the Hansen era will not start in Boston until
next season. Acording to both the Globe notes and pre-gamr he hasn't
pitched since Friday and has been shut down with a "tired arm". It
sounds like a natural thing for someone who had taken 2 months off and
then started pitching again and isn't expected to affect him long term
but I don't see this very careful with young pitchers team taking any
short term chances with him.
This should "Curl" someone's hair"y". It was suggested in the pre-game
that part of the reason the Yankees picked up Bellhorn is that they
haven't felt they could afford to rest Jeter or Slappy. The feeling
being that with Bellhorn both these guys will get some time off in the
last month of the season.   Sounds a little different than Torre
telling his regulars they won't get any days off from here on out as
some infamous Yankee fans have been trying to sell us.

Curt tonight reminded me of some of Pedro's few confusing starts last
year. Struggle early and then finish strong. I don't think I've seen a
Sox pitcher have so many of his pitches hit of the wall in 1 inning
before. And to answer Bob's question I think those last 4 innings are
definately a good thing to build on. Now if he could start the game
having his location.

Hey Ray, I think they caught a break on that play at the plate. How ya
like those Cheatin' umps now? In fact I'll bet Lou thinks they were
cheatin' for the Sox all night.

Olerud gets a " + " for ting the game in the 8th.

Tito gets a " + " for starting Trot against the lefty (Though I realize
he had little choice.), the inspired pinch hitting, and for not running
for Papi in the 9th. It's likely with Cora they may have tried it and
he probably would have been out too.

Mueller gets a " + " for the hit, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Timlin gets a " + " for the rocking chair 1-2-3 inning to set up the
