Sounds like you are in good spirits, that helps with any recovery.
Wish you all the best.

Hi ASP,.
Please excuse this brief intrusion into your lives.
I hope that this posting finds you all hale and hearty and having a
great year so far.
I'm writing this post to set the record straight, deal with any
rumors, and set forth what will have to be a small, but significant,
change in how Smokin' Holsters conducts business for the foreseeable
future.
I suffered a heart attack on January 3rd and underwent bypass surgery
on Saturday January 7th. So far, I have experienced a remarkable
recovery. I am well and getting healthier by the day. As of this week,
I'm back in the shop and working on bags and accessories.
To all of you who have sent your good wishes and support over the past
few weeks, I am heartily grateful. The support of all you folks has
been truly awesome, mind-boggling, and humbling.
I guess after reading this (and hopefully sighing with relief :-) ),
you are all wondering where the significant change comes in. Well here
it is. There will be a general scarcity of readily available Smokin'
Holsters product for at least the foreseeable future. Here?s why.
The first quarter of my year has always been extremely hectic. This
year is proving no different. As a result of my surgery and recovery
process, I find myself three or so weeks behind in my work. I have
several custom orders in progress and new custom orders coming in
every day. I also have several overseas vendors to keep stocked, a
website that needs product, pipe makers and accessory crafters that
need socks and sacks, two new bag designs I'm tackling and, of course,
the Chicago show looming on the horizon.
So, what does all this mean?
If you plan to purchase a Smokin' Holsters Pipe Bag, or any product in
the near future, some planning ahead will really be the way to go.
First, there is a page on my website titled Available Pipe Bags
( http://www.smokinholsters.com/Available%20Pipe%20Bags.html ). For
now, this is the easiest?and only way?to get a bag quickly, assuming
you see a bag that works for you that you like.
I try to keep this page as up-to-date as possible. If this page shows
that a bag is available, the odds are that it is, and I can ship it
within 24 hours. While I hope to be able to add to this page often,
that will most likely not be the case, so get them while they are
available for purchase.
If one of those available bags don't suit you, and you are thinking of
custom-ordering one of my bags, the best course of action would be to
let me know so I can add you to my waiting list. At this point the
wait for a bag will probably be 4 - 6 weeks, but I will work on bags
by opportunity. If I am able to add your bag to current production, I
will do so. This may make your bag available quicker because it is
easier for me to cut and work on bags of like colors and leathers
together, so you may, in fact, have a shorter wait if your bag is
similar to bags in current production. I can?t plan production
efficiently unless your bag is on the list, so please contact me if
you are considering a bag in the future.
Okay, let's talk about Chicago. I have always tried to have a full
selection of bags at the Chicago show. I will make every effort to do
that this year, but I can only do what I can do. I have to put my
current commitments and incoming waiting-list orders first.
It would certainly make sense to let me know as far in advance as
possible that you would like to purchase a bag at the show.
I will certainly continue to send out periodic updates on production
status and also on web updates as they happen.
Thank you all for your support, both personally and for Smokin'
Holsters and my products. Please feel free to contact me with any
questions you might have.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as I can in Chicago and at any
other shows I may attend this year.
Sincerely,
Neil
