This week at The Piperack, we have a nice group of three Michael
Lindner Handmades, a variety of other unsmoked including a bunch of
pieces from the 1970s and a great group of estates including pipes
from Dunhill, Ardor, Rinaldo, Sasieni, Larsen and more, so let's get
to it!

In unsmoked pipes, there are three Michael Lindner Handmade Pipes.
Michael Lindner creates around 100 beautiful pipes per year, running
the gamut from perfectly-executed billiards to artistic, flowing
Blowfish. Starting with briar from the same source that Teddy Knudsen
utilizes, Michael air-cures his wood a minimum of three years before
working it. This ensures an effortless break-in, and in our personal
experience Lindner Pipes tend to be very forgiving in their smoking
characteristics. German ebonite and brindle rod stock is used to
create the handcut stems, and all the pipes are completely handmade.
The engineering is spot-on, and Michael says he will not make a pipe
that won’t pass a pipecleaner easily. The bowl coatings are completely
neutral in flavour and still allow the wood to absorb the moisture of
the smoke. Whether you collect the classics, or you prefer the avant-
garde, every Lindner will smoke effortlessly, day in, day out. Check
out the pair of bamboos - one a Virgin Spider Ringblast - or the
elegant C2 Rhodesian.

Also in unsmoked, there is a small selection of Savinellis from the
1970s. Recently we got in a collection of pipes that were all acquired
between the mid 1960s and mid 1970s, including estate Savinellis,
Webers, Charatan Rejects and others as well as some unsmoked pieces
from Savinelli, Peterson and more. We have unsmoked Savinelli Punto
Oros (including a rarely seen "Super"), a De Luxe Milano, and a
Sherwood Rock Briar. In addition there are unsmoked pipes from
Peterson, Butz Choquin and others.

This week in estates, the "Piperack Pick" goes to the Estate Rinaldo
Sahara Collection Titania Long-Shank Lumberman. The Rinaldo brothers
starting making pipes in 1974, and continue today, using only the
finest, well aged Mediterranean briar. Many in the business and the
hobby rave about their superior smoking characteristics. And I admit,
I was a skeptic. But I've smoked one, and I'm just amazed! This
Rinaldo is an amazing pipe to behold; it's nearly 9 inches long with a
solid, one-piece shank that is 5 3/8 inches. It's a Sahara (sandblast)
Collection in the Titania size (extra large) with a handcut black
acrylic stem. The pipe features gorgeous back-to-front radial crosscut
blasting (check out the grain pics), a black taper stem, great lines
and superb fit and finish - and I can guarantee you'll love smoking
it! Rated 9.75 out of 10, this one is sure to go fast! Also from
Italy, there's another Rinaldo (this one a mint condition Lithos
Silverline zulu), as well as a pair of Ardors (check out the smooth
Giove bent Banker). From England, there's a 1925 Dunhill Patent
Bruyere shape 60 billiard, a wonderful Comoy Grand Slam Patent from
1932/33 (with the white bar logo and "Pat. Pending" stamp), and pipes
from GBD, Sasieni, Charatan and others. From the USA and Denmark, we
have another Weber "Rare Grain" and a W.O. Larsen Handmade Select with
stellar birdseye.

Don't miss the gorgeous grain on the unsmoked Rich Lewis Fluted Stack,
or the unsmoked Frank Stollenwerk Bamboo! Next update comes in a
couple weeks with more great pipes from around the world - you won't
want to miss it!
