Many thanks for answering. Good info.

Those three marques are certainly on my list. I agree with you on the Castello price issue – they are bit pricey, but I really like their shapes. The only one I have has the easiest draw of any pipes I have owned.

If one is looking for good grain, Cavicchis seem to have the best grain/price ratio of those your mentioned to my uneducated eye. Ceppos follow closely and I love their blasts.

I have a couple of Ser Jacopos and I must say I agree with your friend - wonderful pipes!
