I'm mostly curious about Italian pipes since they are my favorites at the
moment, but would certainly be interested of your experiences on any pipe
brand. Marquees I'm eager to try (but have no experience of) include:
Mastro de Paja, Caminetto, Ascorti, Viprati, L'anatra, Ardor, Duca,
Cavicchi, Radice...
I do understand that the bore may vary according to pipe's size and shape,
but I'm looking for a typical airway size to a given brand.
A boring question – I know.
TIA!

Moro,
Interesting question indeed. From what I've learned they do vary. And
I mean the italians. From what I've experienced I can easily second
the notions on the Castellos. The ten I have are the easiest draws
I've experienced so far(apart from the Rads of course).
Caminetto, Viprati, Radice are the most inconsistent regarding the
draw. But I only have a few of them each. Not scientific enough, one
might think:)

Thanks for your answer. It looks like I'm going to have to take my chances with those Italianos when buying via teh interwebz, or focus solely on Castellos.
I have a few Italian made pipes and none of them have a restrictive draw, but still I do keep looking for pipes with more open airway.
Cheers!
