Ok Pipers,
I swear, the best of the best tasting pipe I ever smoked was a
Kaywoodie drugstore item I bought from a drugstore in Lowell, NC in
1957. Wow, what a great smoking pipe filled with Carter Hall over the
counter drug store pipe tobacco. Well I guess it says that I ain't a
real pipe tobacco smoking expert. Well, anyway, I do know what tastes
and smells good. I was what I was and I am what I am. I still love
the Kaywoddie pipe and for sure I love Carter Hall.

There is a reason that companies like Kaywoodie and Grabow sold so
many pipes - same reason as CH has sold so well over the years.

good on-topic question, Jerry. All my pipes taste good, but would have
to favor my Tinskys & Castellos only because they seem to have a more
"open" draw than others. (I've had two pipes opened up by the late Jim
Benjamin so they're both right up there with the above). For tobacco,
probably the diabolical HermitTobb "10Russians", followed closely by
Pease Abingdon, Blackpoint & C&D daVinci. Way back when I did drug
store tobacco(s), CarterHall & KentuckyClub original (blue & white
pkg) were my #1 picks. Next?
