Re: how to "cure" a pipe?
Hi there is loads of ways to cure a pipe. Its all down to personal
preference at the end of the day. I personally for the first 5 bowls
only half fill the bowl. The after that I fill the bowl to the top.
But I'm careful never to get the pipe hot! Which is important until
there's a decent layer of carbon build up. When I say to hot. I mean
to touch with your hand or cheek of your face. Its important because
you don't want to damage the wood.
I recent got my Dr Plumb. I would consider it not cured yet. Not until
there's a solid 1-2mm build up of carbon.
