I recently opened a tin of 5 yr. old Hamborger Veermaster only to find
it had a aroma that smacked of mildew. There was no visible evidence

away and hoped it would dissapate with time. Alas, it persisted in
both aroma and taste. It wasn;t overbearingly tainted, just enough to
notice. I ultimately dumped the tobacco. I should note that I've
opened many tins of HV in the past and this is the only time I've
experianced this problem. Anyone else run into a tin with a moldy
smell/taste without any visible evidence of mold ?

Yes, I had the same experience with a domestic blend. Al of the tins
so far that I had opened from that batch were contaminated. I am
definitely not a happy camper after buying about ten tins of the stuff
for aging.
