'Afternoon everyone,
I'm just in from dropping my mom off at the airport so she can head back
to Florida. Always sad to see her go but we had a very nice visit.
Now I'm smoking a bowl of McC Anniversary in a Tobak's Viking Danish

It's only about 50F here in NW Louisiana and I'm loving it! It actually
sleeted a little bit, which is a big deal for Louisiana. A couple years
ago it sleeted for about 5 minutes and they closed the entire LSUS
campus and canceled classes. Ridiculous? Maybe.

Ah, you tropical folks just can't handle weather! ;)

Can sorta relate to your story, Casey. Similar with my step grandkids
in southern NC. Slight dusting of snow, not even 1/2" one Nov, almost
the entire area shut down, schools closed etc. Meanwhile in Western
NY, 35, overcast, at least no wind. Back from loooong "dog walks me",
DGT Montecruz lonsdale for added company. Cigar survived the cold, no
wrapper split. Pre-dinner tea, '05 965 with Penzance crumbs in another
SerJac blast & read the snail-mail. "Seeya" for evening smokes.

70 and beautiful at the moment.

We tropical types are not accustomed to temps below 80 so when they do
hit it's a big deal to some, remember we spend a great deal of the year
in the 90's with matching humidity.

True dat, Ken, and you have all my respect for dealing with that side of things.
On the other hand we here in the high desert spend a good part of the year with
temps >100 and humidity in the teens.
I guess you pays your money and you takes your choice.
Personally, I plan on checking out the Pacific Northwest for retirement venues.

I'm told the best year round weather is in Bogotá, Colombia,
unfortunately we gringos aren't real safe down there. More of a
commodity ;-)

Since all of you on this thread are talking about the weather
preferences I will make known my thoughts.I have lived in southern
California, Oklahoma City, Memphis, NYC.When I was still employed I
traveled all over the United States, Mexico, Caribbean and was always
aware of the weather. My brother teaches in New Orleans and I will
have to say that the humidity in New Orleans is so intense that I only
go there in the winter. I have relatives in Tampa, Flordia and I don't
go there after May and until Nov. My relatives in Tacoma, Washington
are the people that seldom see any heat but it rains 265 days a year.
I have been in Scottsdale Az with a RH4% and that low humidity is very
deceptive. If it feels like 80 then its about 104. I think that
Southern California use to have the most ideal temperature I haven't
been ther since the 90s So why do I live in Oklahoma? I love the
people in Oklahoma and Texas they are so friendly and down to earth.
